
My Story
I appreciate you taking the time to consider how my background uniquely equips me to manage every detail involved in delivering a successful tournament. I was fortunate to begin my working life at the age of 13 in our family-owned gas station in Madison, Indiana. My parents instilled in me a strong foundation rooted in faith, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to excellent customer service. I believe my career and life experiences have naturally led me to this point—offering the opportunity to help others reach their goals through professionally planned golf outings.
My journey in the golf industry began with a degree in Turf Management from the University of Kentucky, where I developed a strong foundation in course maintenance, agronomy, and the behind-the-scenes work that enhances the player experience.
In 2005, I moved to Salisbury, Maryland, and began working for a turfgrass brokerage firm. That role expanded my skill set into customer service, contract negotiation, and agricultural project management—serving as the vital link between customers and vendors. It was here that I learned how to manage expectations, solve problems quickly, and navigate the logistics of large-scale operations.
In 2009, I moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and began a new chapter in the beverage industry with Heidelberg Distributing Company. During my time there, I held several roles that strengthened my business insight and operational leadership. As a Brand Manager, I focused on maintaining brand integrity and increasing visibility in highly competitive markets.
Later, as Special Event Sales and Operations Manager, I was responsible for planning and executing all of the largest outdoor festivals in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Kentucky. I managed everything from vendor coordination and permitting to on-site logistics and execution. These high-volume events demanded precise planning, quick problem-solving, and a strong focus on guest experience—all of which strengthened my ability to deliver smooth, successful events under pressure.
As an avid golfer myself, I understand what makes an event truly memorable—for players, hosts, and supporters alike. That passion, combined with my diverse professional background, led me to launch Esby Golf Services. My goal is to bring together golf industry expertise, strategic event planning, and a deep love for the game to help organizations host standout charity and corporate tournaments. I believe in making the planning process smooth, the execution seamless, and the experience unforgettable—for everyone involved.
